Soby’s: Where You Can Dine with Your Dog in Downtown Greenville

Location: 207 S Main St, Greenville, SC 29601

Soby’s New South Cuisine is a beloved restaurant in downtown Greenville, South Carolina, that has been serving exceptional food, wine, cocktails, and craft beer for more than 20 years. The restaurant, which has a rustic charm and a rich history, is the quintessential gathering place where locals and visitors come together to experience southern-inspired cuisine with a modern twist.

What’s more, Soby’s is a dog-friendly restaurant where you can bring your furry friend to sit outside with you while you enjoy your meal. The restaurant has a tent to keep diners warm when it’s cold outside, so you can still enjoy the outdoor seating even during chilly weather.

Soby’s menu focuses on locally-grown, seasonal ingredients, and the dishes are a perfect blend of classic southern flavors with a modern twist. Whether you’re in the mood for some fried green tomatoes, Soby’s crab cakes, or the famous shrimp and grits, you can rest assured that each dish is thoughtfully prepared to please your taste buds.

But that’s not all. Soby’s also boasts an award-winning wine selection that showcases thousands of expertly curated bottles from around the world. The sommelier team is dedicated to presenting guests with a distinctive list that includes the perfect vintage for your toast-worthy dinner or event.

The history of Soby’s is just as impressive as its food and wine. The building that houses the restaurant used to be the old Shoe Mart, and when Carl Sobocinski and his partner, David Williams, purchased it more than 20 years ago, they took on the herculean task of transforming it into one of Greenville’s most successful restaurants. The renovation project was a labor of love, and during demolition, they uncovered some hidden gems in the old building, including the beautiful interior brick that had been hidden beneath layers of plaster.

Today, Soby’s is just one of 10 restaurants under the Table 301 Restaurant Group, and the name “Table 301” actually refers to a single table in Soby’s that is located at the top of the stairs on the second floor mezzanine level. The strategically placed table overlooks the bustling kitchen and offers a spectacular view of the entire dining room.

So if you’re looking for a dog-friendly restaurant in downtown Greenville where you can enjoy exceptional food, wine, and craft beer, look no further than Soby’s. With its warm service, inviting atmosphere, and delicious southern-inspired cuisine, Soby’s is an experience you won’t want to miss.
